Cornelius the Lion – Cornell’s New Mascot!
Last summer we invited you to contribute
ideas for a Cornell Mascot. Thank you all for your entries and participation in our recent online poll.
We are happy to announce that
the winning entry which polled the most votes was Cornelius the Lion. Thank you to Bill Giannis who submitted
the popular entry. Why Cornelius the Lion? A lion represents strength and courage and Cornelius is the
latin form of the name Cornell.
Now to choose a Mascot costume! CRPA asked the students at CVPS to choose between
two costumes! The votes are in, the friendliest looking lion was the most popular.
Cornelius will be attending different functions throughout the year, such as our annual picnic – sure
to be a hit with the kids! Let's all welcome Cornelius the Lion as the newest member of our community! Stay
posted for news on Cornelius’ first appearance.
